Kekabeca Falls

My hubby talking to the local Police officer. Actually he was buttering him up as we didn't put anything into the meter, we were only stopping for a moment!

We stopped at a place called Kekebeca Falls and spent the night. The Legend behind the falls is that A Fair Indian Maiden who was the much loved daughter of the Tribal chief. One Day when all the young men where off the women of the camp found out that there was a tribe of unfriendly Native's camped up stream. The daughter decided to go for a canoe ride, when she was captured by the nasty tribe she pretended to go against her people and agreed to lead them back to her camp. She lead them in single file down the river, there are different endings to the story, one is she jumps to the shore and the others go over the falls. The other story said she gave up her life and went over the fall with the others to save her village.
